More than 40 people have died in an explosion at a political rally in northeast Pakistan, while a further three have been killed in a suspected militant attack on the US consulate in Peshawar.
Pakistan Taliban has claimed responsibility for the multiple attacks, in which at least one people was killed and another eight were injured.
The three explosions took place within 20 minutes, causing mobile phone networks to jam. One of the bombings sent a column of smoke several stories high over the city, according to images broadcast on local television.
